Halloween Dress-Up
On Friday 25th October, we will have the annual Halloween Dress Up Day. Children can come to school in their costumes and can remain in them for the school day. Children who participate in the Dress Up Day are asked to make a €2 contribution, to The Mercy Hospital Paediatric Oncology Outreach Nursing Service (which allows children who are suffering from cancer to be treated in their own homes).
In order to encourage children to create their own costumes (and prevent any extra costs to parents), children with homemade costumes will be entered into a classroom draw for a prize.
Christmas Cards (Design – a – Card):
In the coming days, each child will be given an opportunity to design his/her own individual Christmas card. This can be done at home or in school. The Christmas cards will be sent to the publishing company on Oct. 24th. These cards will be printed professionally and a sample will be sent home after the midterm break. You will then have the option to purchase packs of these cards, gift tags etc., if you wish to do so. There is no obligation to buy the Christmas cards. Every child will get to keep the sample of the card! If you would us to submit a Christmas card on behalf of your child please have it returned on or before Oct. 24th.

Voluntary Contribution:
For the past number of years parents have been asked to make a voluntary contribution to school funds and this money has been used to purchase school equipment and requisites and to pay expenses such as heating oil.
€60 per family per year has been the recommended contribution and has been collected in instalments of €20 per term or alternatively in a single payment of €60. Parents have been more than generous and this generosity is greatly appreciated.
We are acutely aware of the continuous demands on parents and want to stress that this contribution is completely voluntary.
If you wish to contribute, you are asked to send the money into the school in a sealed envelope with your name and ‘Voluntary Contribution’ on the envelope. A receipt will be issued for any contributions made.
Thanking you,
Ailín Fitzgerald.
