Parents,
Hope all are well. Congratulations to the children who got their Confirmation last week. They did an excellent job on the day and represented the school so well. Their behaviour and cooperation was complimented a number of times by many people. Thanks to the parents who participated in the Ceremony also. It was a great success and we hope all involved enjoyed their day.
Just a few things for the upcoming weeks.
- Clothes collection – a huge thanks to all who have brought bags for the clothes collection – should anyone have any last few bits they want to get rid of, the last day for bringing clothes will be Friday. We are very grateful to the Parents’ Association for organising this fundraiser.
- The Parents Association will also be doing a battery collection over the coming weeks. Any type of batteries can be collected and either dropped into the school lobby from 9.10 to 3pm or should people like to gather over the Summertime, John Casey (at John’s Bridge) has very kindly offered his garage, as a storage space over the Summer months. All funds raised will be put towards the continuation of the Accelerated Reader programme (AR), which we are running for another year.
- The school calendar for next year is up on the website at the following link School calendar A hard copy will be sent with school reports for your convenience.
- School reports will go home with your child in a sealed envelope on June 14th. If you would like us to post it to your house, please send in a stamped addressed envelope and we will facilitate same. Should you wish to discuss any part of your child’s report with their class teacher, please make an appointment as soon as possible, and a telephone call or meeting will be arranged.
- Drama workshop with Comedian and qualified primary school teacher Bernard Casey: Bernard Casey will facilitate a drama workshop in each of the three classes on June 12th. He focuses on team building, self-confidence, decision-making, creativity and communication. We hope this will be an enjoyable experience for the children. We ask that each child contribute €6 towards the cost of the workshop – the school will cover the remaining cost.
- Some important dates in the coming weeks:
- 13th June – 6th Class Graduation at 1.30pm, end of year ‘Cuppa and Catch-up’ for parents and family members with refreshments at 2pm and James O’Connell memorial Blitz at 2.30pm – All welcome from 1.30pm on!!
