Dear Parents,
We are all looking forward to welcoming all our students back to School on August 30th.
I hope you and your family enjoyed the Summer break.
IMPORTANT: Please complete the Return to School Declaration form which will be sent to your phone via text message on Sunday 29th August.
Just a reminder that all measures that are in place in school, have been carefully considered in line with government, public health and departmental guidelines. I would like to take this opportunity to refresh you of some of the measures which you, as parents, can help implement.
-
We ask that the number of items brought to and from school is limited
-
Children will not be allowed to share any of their personal items – so please label all your child’s personal items.
-
Children only beyond the school gate at all times please, except in exceptional circumstances eg. collecting a child. Please ring in advance to let us know you will be coming. Please wear a mask if entering the lobby and do not come past the yellow door. When signing your child out, please fill in the slip of paper on the windowsill, sanitizing before and after.
-
Continue to avoid congregating at school gate at drop off and collection times.
-
Ventilation is highly recommended to prevent the spread of Covid-19, therefore, it will be necessary to ventilate the classrooms by opening the windows fully at least twice daily. The windows will be left partially open all day in line with child comfort levels and the heating will be maximised- however, your child may benefit from wearing extra layers underneath their school jumper.
-
Should your child have any cold/flu like symptoms, they MUST stay at home.
It is expected that any child who is sick will stay at home until they are fully better. This is instrumental in preventing the spread of Covid-19.
Please phone your GP if you have any reservations/concerns about your child’s health.
-
Please drop your children from 9.10am onwards, as usual. Please do NOT leave children queuing before 9.10am – please encourage social distancing from other families on entering the school grounds.
Other procedures
- If your child falls sick at school –they will be taken to an isolation area (Lobby) and you will be contacted immediately to come and collect your child. Your child will be supervised by a member of staff until they are collected. For this reason, there may be occasions where the school front door is locked. If this is the case, there will be a notice on the door asking you to ring the school. The rear access point will be used on these occasions. A member of staff will guide you as to what to do.
- If your child would like to skip at break times, they can bring in their own skipping rope when instructed to do so by their class teacher.
- Should you need to contact the school, please do so by email ( secretary@lismirens.com) or by phone call (029-60531)
- Please see ‘Back to School -Advice for Parents’ leaflet below.
I am hopeful of a secure and happy return to school for all our staff and children.
You will be updated with any further procedures etc., when the need arises.
Finally, should anyone have any specific Covid-19 return to school concerns, please email at secretary@lismirens.com.
Kind regards,
Ailín Fitzgerald.
Principal.
