Long-Term Absences (more than 3 days) due to Covid-19 rules ie. Self-Restricting or Isolating:

If a child is unwell, they need to stay at home and focus on getting better. We do not assign school work to children who are absent because they are sick or on holidays.

However, in these current times, we are increasingly aware of the fact that some children may be absent due to Covid-19 restrictions. They may feeling well, but are absent due to isolating or restricting – for a lengthy period.

In these exceptional circumstances, where a child is well enough to attend school, but cannot because of Covid-19 related Guidelines, please contact the school and we will organise work to be sent home for your child to complete.

Smart Watches/Fitness Trackers:

Smart Watches/Fitness Trackers are becoming increasingly popular with children and are a great resource for many, encouraging ‘telling the time’, monitoring healthy habits, fitness etc.

Some of these devices have a built in camera/recorder, enabling users to take pictures or record audio. Such pictures/recordings can be sent to mobile phones or posted on the internet. They have the potential to be misused in schools and can become an instrument of bullying/harassment of others.

Basic fitness trackers are absolutely no problem and are welcomed, however devices with cameras and recording features are not allowed.

If you are unsure if your child’s watch has these features, your child’s teacher can look into it for you.

We thank you for your cooperation in this manner.

Ailín Fitzgerald.
